Sharp Edge Test Procedure

A PTFE tape was wrapped around the steel shaft of the edge sharpness tester. The edge of the test object formed a 90° angle with the steel shaft. The test object was placed in the middle of the adhesive tape to adjust the angle of the test object to find the most unfavorable position. The test object applies force to the adhesive tape to 6N (1.35LBS). At this time, the power indicator light is on, and the equipment test switch is activated to rotate the steel shaft one turn. Carefully disassemble the adhesive tape. Do not damage the cut size. Measure the length of the cut. If the length exceeds 1/2 in. (12.5 mm), the test object is sharp.
